This will guide you through how to setup automated news posting in SnailBot.
Automated Feed Setup has drastically changed since v2.2, taking advantage of buttons, select menus, and forms to help you set up your news feed.
Upon typing /enablefeed
, Discord will show you a partial list of supported news providers. You can either choose one from the list or keep typing to narrow your search.

If you cannot see the channel you want, you can start typing into the select menu to filter channels.
If you cannot see the role you want, you can start typing into the select menu to filter roles.
Next, you will be prompted for the language you want to use for news posts. Choose a language from the list.
SnailBot will prompt you to select tags to filter by. This allows you to only get posts containing the tags you select. If you don't want to filter by tags and get all news, click Disable Tag Filtering
. SnailBot will show the 25 most recently seen tags in the select menu.
You will be asked the ID of the game you wish to enable the feed for. You can find this in the Steam game's product page URL, or on SteamDB. (For example, TF2's ID is 440
)
The next question that SnailBot will ask determines which channel news posts will go into.

Disable Tag Filtering
. SnailBot will show the 25 most recently seen tags in the select menu.You will be asked a link to an RSS/ATOM feed. Provide the link. (ex: https://discordstatus.com/history.atom
). If you're not sure that the site has an RSS feed, just enter the link to the site and SnailBot will try to find any available feeds on that site.
